Deni's Artistic Journey
Deni's Artistic Journey
Deni Lavender is a ceramic and glass artist based on the Isle of Wight, known for her handcrafted ceramics and unique glass art. She studied at Camberwell London, holding her first solo exhibition at a private London gallery in 2009. She has since exhibited across London and the South of England, both as an individual and as part of art collectives.
While ceramics remain her primary focus, Deni expanded her portfolio in 2019 to include working with glass. Her collections feature both functional and ornamental hand-built ceramics, including some large sculptural pieces inspired by her international travels, as well as pictorial and abstract glass pieces.
Deni's ceramic pieces reflect the shapes, textures and colours of natural landscapes and seascapes and her signature style of unfinished edges comment on the human condition and draw attention to the fragility of our planet. In her glass work, Deni favours reclaimed glass for it's ability to echo natural forms such as sea plants whilst giving second life to forgotten fragments.
